Tooth-colored composite restorations
We are an AMALGAM FREE office! Rather than using silver-colored amalgam fillings, our practice utilizes tooth-colored composite fillings. Composite fillings are made of plastic that requires light activation to harden in place. They compare in strength and longevity to amalgam fillings, but also look and feel more natural.
Crowns and bridges
Crowns and bridges come in many forms with and without metal underneath. Porcelain crowns with metal (PFM) are standard crowns. Our office offers a new type of crown, the full porcelain crown. The e-max, Empress and Lava crowns provide an unprecedented degree of strength and aesthetics.
Veneers
Veneers are porcelain shells that are fixed to your teeth with an adhesive material. Depending on the case, part of the natural tooth has to be removed to make room for the thickness of a veneer which can be as thin as 0.3 millimeter, which is not much thicker than a contact lens.
Implants
Implants are a wonderful alternative to bridges because they leave surrounding teeth unharmed. Having an implant placed where a tooth has been missing can help preserve bone in that area while restoring your chewing function. In our office we do promote implants and will provide the necessary referral to the oral surgeon or periodontal specialist to place the implant. After that, I would restore the implant with a new crown.
Root canal therapy
When decay in your tooth reaches the nerve, we have to treat the root canal. This procedure involves cleaning the root canal and filling it with inert materials. A root canal therapy can often save a tooth that would otherwise require extraction.
Dentures
Dentures offer a cost-effective means to replacing lost teeth. Getting used to dentures can take a little while, especially for first time users, but eventually you'll hardly notice them. We do our best to make sure your dentures look and feel as good (if not better) than your own teeth.
Extractions
Extractions are sometimes necessary if a tooth cannot be saved or is endangering neighboring teeth with a possible infection.
